We seek an experienced MAINTENANCE MECHANIC for our Buffalo, New York plastics injection molding facility.
As a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC with Hospira,
The Maintenance Mechanic Maintains and ensures proper running condition of all machinery and equipment within the molding facility to maximize machine utilization and production efficiencies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(A) Production Floor
Responds to and carries out requests from Manufacturing Superintendents, especially on off shifts.
Troubleshoots, repairs and rebuilds all injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment.
Performs and records timely preventative maintenance to all assigned machinery.
Maintains accurate history logs for all machines for use in identifying and diagnosing problems.
Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical and electronic circuitry; hydraulic systems, plumbing, valving, filters, tanks, pumps, etc.
Ensure that all machines and equipment are properly lubricated.
Ensures that all machine safeties, guards, panels and doors are closed or in proper position.
Ensures that all machinery is properly set-up, leveled, and in the best running condition.
Reprograms injection molding machines from either tape or disk drive.
(B) Building Maintenance
Works with outside contractors in repairing, moving and installing equipment, materials handling systems and other support equipment.
Repairs, maintains and builds facility equipment and structures.
Performs plant wiring, carpentry and plumbing as required.
(C) Other Duties
Provides training and guidance to set-up mechanics.
Strives to improve machine performance, and to minimize downtime through prior planning and quick thorough machine repairs.
Promptly notifies production supervision when repairs are complete, and area is clear of tools and equipment.
