COOK Polymer Technology (CPT), is a Bloomington, IN based OEM for a private, global medical device manufacturer. CPT is the plastic manufacturing segment of Cook Medical Inc. Formerly known as Sabin Corp., CPT manufactures and supplies Cook Group companies with medical device components and sub-assemblies. CPT utilizes the latest manufacturing techniques in the areas of extrusion, injection molding, insert molding and assembly automation to achieve its objective.

General Job Description

The Extrusion Engineer will work closely with internal manufacturing teams and the product development group in designing and developing custom extrusions used in the manufacture of catheters and components used in the medical device industry.

Job Functions/Duties (may include other duties as assigned)

• Utilize experience and background in polymers, tooling, and processing to develop extrusions that meet specific performance criteria.
• Provide daily production support
• Manage all capital projects in the Tool Room area.
• Implement quality improvement programs.
  
  Work Experience
  
   
• Minimum of seven years of hands-on, industrial work experience in the multi-lumen, small diameter, and/or microbore tubing.
• Experience designing/developing extrusion tooling.
  
  Education
  
   
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a concentration in Plastics or Polymers.
• Requisite knowledge of polymer elastomers.
